1st brug bloom - yellow

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Just got my first bloom - I am so excited...I have had all the neighbours over to admire it - one guy said it looked like a squash bloom - egads...ignorant people what can you say? I planted this one in the ground to the side of my driveway, I walk out there almost every hour to look at it, the bloom is pretty close to the ground, I have had to lay on the ground to look up inside it and to get a good whif - course my husband thinks I'm loco...can't get anyone else to lay down on the driveway to get a different view of the bloom - oh well, their loss.
There are 2 other buds on this plant, I cant wait. but all my other brugs (6 - 7 plants) not a bud in sight. But I'm happy with what I have.

Just wanted to share this news with all of you.
I've been reading about everyone else's blooms all summer, and impatiently waiting for mine to bloom...So I'm a happy camper now.

I think we all must look pretty silly playing with our brugs. I have to get down on my knees and crawl underneath to water the back ones. Who cares what anybody thinks!

I was just out collecting pollen from a Brug that is so tall I had to use the ladder to reach it....I'm sure my neighbor thought I have really flipped now....I agree with Liz "Who Cares". :0)

I'd be thrilled too to get a bloom this year on my big 8'yellow one. I know you all are probably tired of me fussing about it. I sure hope the nice rain we finally got will kick it in gear.

Pebble we share your joy - be sure and take pictures.

Karma, I will - I had you in mind to do that.....lol
I now have 3 blooms on that plant, and just noticed a whole bunch of babies.....it is planted in the ground, I think I'm going to have to dig it up!!! and bring it in the house. Karma right???? I should do that to keep it blooming inside?

thanks all of you for your kind words of encouragement.

cheers
