We live in the country....no fences, surrounded by woods & farmland. We've had several dogs at a time for 25 years out here & they go where they like. They don't bother the neighbors, they come home when called, but they do chase the deer away from the hunters & sometimes get shot for their efforts. They have disposed of most of the quail & lots of the wild turkeys that roam here. We don't really like the depredation of the wildlife (except the rodent population, which they keep in check pretty well), but short of keeping the dogs restrained...is there a way to keep them home? We'd love to fence the boundaries & keep them within our own 50 + /- acres, but can't afford it......
Any suggestions? Is it an impossibility?
