i was gonna start a new thread bragging how many eggs my new hampshires lay then i saw a small bird flying over like a starling or something and it stopped in mid air and hovered like a helicopter and waited for its mate , i thought only humming birds could do that , the Lord is amazing
i saw the greatest thing today
wow, tha tis cool! so, how many eggs?
I wonder what it was. Some raptors hover before they stoop. Could it have been a kestrel?
Maybe a sparow hawk, the size sounds right.
one of my new hampshires lays every morning as soon as i let her out of the coup about 8:30 i have to open my garage door she runs in there and mostly lays her egg before 9:00. i got her in february . the only times she skipped a day was one day i tried to pick her up and it scared her half to death . and the other time was when i put 14 day old chics in the yard she skipped 2 days . other than that she only skipped once or twice . i wish i had 11 more just like her
