alamanda not blooming

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

I have an alamanda in a pot that has never bloomed. Partly my fault. It hasn't had much fertilizer. But I'm not sure what kind it needs, or if it needs some particular kind. I am an organic gardener. I have tried some of the brug formula (except without humate) that's been discussed in the Brug forum, but haven't been regular about it. It does make it grow by leaps and bounds, but still no flowers. It gets morning sun and dappled shade in the afternoon. Any ideas?

Could be too little sun--I rarely fertilize mine and it blooms just fine, and the more sun it gets the happier it seems. Right now I've got it somewhere that it gets sun from early morning until about 4 PM (if you decide to move it, make sure you adjust it gradually to a higher amount of sun so it doesn't get sunburned in the process)

Is yours in a pot Ecrane? Mine is in a 14 or 16 inch plastic pot.

Hi Guys, I bought an alamanda this year and she is doing fine, I feed her bloom plus (over 50 middle number phosphate weekly on Sundays) and she is still blooming. I am in NY! She is in full sun too!

Yes, mine's in a pot, about the same size as yours.

Hmmm ok. I'll move it where it'll get a little more sun and see what happens. Thanks.

get an organic source of potash and phosphorus.

Hmmm. I used Rabbit Hill Farms Buds and Blooms fertilizer. It's got everything under the sun in there, but I don't know specifically about potash and phosphorus. I'll look on the sack after work today.

Ok I know you like everything organic and I do too, but sometimes forcing plants is not so bad. I really use that super phosphate over 50 # and vitamin b1 and fish emulsion, a good combination weekly for this plant, that is what I feed my brugs and everything else that blooms, and here is my pic, and I live in NY, not tropical zone, she must go inside for the winter in order to survive!

I've never used superphosphate. What's the difference between that and the regular kind? I did get something called Soft Phosphate with colloidal clay, but I forgot to use it of course.
