coral vine not blooming

Has anyone had experience with a coral vine not blooming? I planted it from a small 4" nursery plant this spring and it has grown like gang busters but no flowers. Along the same fence, in the same conditions (full sun), I planted a hyacinth bean and a moon flower vine. The other vines are blooming well. I tried Bloom Boost but no results. Thanks,

I always grow coral vine and it blooms like gang busters for me. I don't fertilize except in the spring and the rest of the year all it gets is what leaches from the lawn fertilizer. It does like water and the west sun. Another thing, I don't prune mine at any time except to get some errant part of a vine that doesn't want to conform. Even after it goes dormant I leave the vine there and the next spring it comes out all along the brown vine. Not the prettiest thing in the winter but I don't mind. Other vines can come along and cover it but as hardy as it is, in the spring it always comes forth and does its thing. This vine is a must have in my garden.

Everything that I read says that it is such an easy vine to grow and blooms profusely. It is in the same area with other vines that are blooming and below it, roses are blooming as well. I would have to surmise that there is adequate sun and water if the roses are doing well. Go figure.....

Well, I thought mine was the only one not blooming! It is a beautiful, full vine but right now only two blooms have peeked out at us. I also have moonvines and hyacinth bean vine blooming nicely in the same area. Oh well, maybe next year.

In my zone, mine never starts blooming till late summer or early fall. I suspect yours will start shortly.

I agree with Podster. Mine have just now started blooming and aren't covered with blooms as yet. I whack mine back to the ground every year and they wind up in the canopy of the trees anyway. I don't fertilize them at all.

That's what I wanted to hear! Maybe there is a chance for mine after all. Thanks everyone.

This one was cut back to the ground last year, because it had climbed up a tree we had to cut down. Before that, it bloomed heavily in late spring. Now that it has more growth, I suspect it will do that again. Some plants have to have some age before they come into full bloom. This picture was taken on the 7th.
