Florida get ready!

Nederland, TX(Zone 9a)

Just a note to say that Cat and Dave and all of our florida friends, I am keeping you in my prayers hoping that the storm does little or no damage. Cat and Dave keep us updated Please...
The little ones pack a punch. We had one 2 weeks ago.

Take Care,
Robert

Hang in there friends; this storm might be small but it is sure schizophrenic and can't seem to decide where to go.

Nederland, TX(Zone 9a)

Hey Ardesia,
Do you expect anything from this one?

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

As long as it stays on the present track and heads west we will only get some outer bands and some much needed rain. Wind should be in the 30 MPH range and that is pretty normal here.

If the storm goes out to sea again the jury is out.

Thanks for asking.

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Fay decided to park her ass in Palm Bay/Melbourne for the last 2 days. How nice of her (not)!. It has been raining 2 solid days.

I put most hibs on their sides, to drain water and protect from the wind.

I decided to go for a drive, which was probably extremely nuts! The streets are all lakes. In some areas, you can only see the roofs of cars!!!!! Wickham road is 5 miles of lake. It is a main thoroughfair. I-95 is flooded.

On our main road, my block is the only one that is NOT a lake.

However, you know my backyard is. It stopped raining for about an hour so I took Tuni in the backyard. She was happily digging holes and SWIMMING in the nature made pond.

The weather forecasters say that Fay is beginning to form again...If this turns into a hurricane, we are up a creek, because I don't know how strong the trees are after being land soaked.

I am truly sorry cat. I pray it gets better for yall soon. I have been thinking about you and your babies. I know how it is when you have so much invested and you end up getting yourself hurt trying to protect them. LOL all for our babies. We have been flooding here. I have about 4" of water standing in the GH's. It's crazy!!! Stay safe and try to stay dry. BTW why are you steering her towards me LOL

I heard that they expect to get 30" of rain in Brevard county. Is that near you Cat? Gosh, I hate that you have to go through this and Fay is the wackiest of hurricanes. She gains strength over land and sits quietly over water; what's with that????

With the present projected path, we should be spared which is a good thing although we could use the rain. A few small outer bands have been blowing through but they only last about 10 minutes and then the sun is out again.

Robert, send us some of that excess water you have, we need it badly.

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

Cat, glad to hear you're OK but sorry to hear about all the flooding, I'll keep my fingers crossed that things calm down and don't get worse

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Alice
I live in Brevard County. Yep, 30" of rain sounds about right. Outer bands still lingering, with clouds, but so far no rain today.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I can't even imagine. Iowa has had some bad flooding too. I'm so happy I live where I do....on top of a hill. Stay safe, Cat.

Nederland, TX(Zone 9a)

I just talked to a a poor lady over there that asked me if her hibs that are under 20" of water will survive. I told her if at all possible get them out of there. I remember Cat's flood last year. Cat, stay safe and keep dry.

Thank goodness Fay finally left us. My poor babies! I might have lost "Voodoo Magic" but not giving up hope yet. She's strong and resillient, and now that the sun is trying to come out, it may help. I pruned all her branches, now she looks like a sad, sad, skeleton.
Had to also prune back a few others, but for the most part, they are troopers. Tarantella and Wild at Heart even bloomed for me today :)

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Good to hear! Wishing you clear skies for a while.

San Bernardino, CA(Zone 8b)

Wow, I'm sorry for all your rain Cat!!!! Those pictures look just horrible :-( Good Tuni is making the best of it. You must have the toughest hibiscus in all of Florida for all they've been though. So glad we don't have hurricanes in California. Take care of yourself, your fur babies and your mom too!
