Does this foliage look familiar to anyone?

(Zone 1)

I'm hoping someone might recognize this one from foliage alone. ^_^ I know, probably not possible, huh?

I got this Hoya in a house plant trade last year and can't remember who it came from. I think it was labeled Hoya keysii. The label has disappeared (actually the ink wore off) so I have no clue if that is a correct name or not. I checked and found this one in PF: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/57680/ there are only two photo's, one a close up of the leaves which don't look anything like the foliage on my plant. For the time being I have it labeled as a noid. I do see what may be a peduncle growing, so maybe I will have blooms before long and someone will be able to recognize it for sure.

Here's a pic of what appears to be a bloom spur but I guess could be the beginnings of a new branch.

Australis?

(Zone 1)

Thanks Mark. After looking through hundreds of pictures on the web I'm thinking it must be an australis, just not the subsp keysii.

It could be the seedling, Mrs. G - the nodes are nice and close together. Yes, that is a peduncle!!!

Woo hoo ... I thought maybe it was a new branch. Now the wait for buds and blooms! I'm going to be keeping a watch on it.

Carol ... a seedling Mrs. G? I've never heard that name before. Is that still an australis? How would I label it? If and when it blooms I will post pic's for more input.

Thanks so much!

Not sure which hoya it is but I do have that epi next to it:-). I purchased it when we were in Florida. Do you know the name of it?

Lin,

I think it would be H. australis cv. 'Mrs. G'
I've seen it offered on Ebay constantly for quite some time (maybe since last year) - here's a link so you can see a picture:

Funny, the nurseries around me are all of a sudden carrying a lot of Clusia major seedlings- they look so much like this plant that I keep thinking they are Hoya, until I read the label.

(Zone 1)

Thanks Gabi! It sure does look like that one on e-bay!

Mark: I never even noticed the likeness to Clusia! I have two little small Clusia plants that I bought at Wal-Mart a few months ago and had to go out and look at them ... the foliage sure does look a lot like that hoya!
