Anyone nearby Chicago need some watercress or hyacinth?

I can't believe only a few short months ago I posted that I needed plants for my new pond and now I can give them away . . . I gave away 30 hyacinths and a bagful of watercress this morning to a friend with a pond that her plants don't seem to grow as well and as fast as mine do. I still have more to share if there is a new ponder that needs a little assistance! D-mail me.

Hi Mothermole,
Geesh, I finally found a store that carried the water cress, so I hurried up and bought two bundles ran back to the pond, washed it off and threw some in the pond, and WAITED. And waited and waited!! None of the Koi wanted to even nibble at it?? I ended up waiting a few days and put the rest in the pond, but sadly no takers :( Pretty soon now it will be time to take up the lilies and get the pots ready for ugh, ........windter....OUCH, I just pinched myself for even saying that awful word, WINTER

No kidding. I struggled with my koi a lot over the summer-first to disease and death and then to a heron. Now my fish are in a permanent state of FEAR and won't come near to the edge of the pond let alone towards me. It makes me sad.

Cured my sadness with $150.00 of Japanese Koi. . . Three big ones!
