Alocasia micholitziana (green velvet) Also known as Alocasia frydek Their are around 5 forms of this plant. I have one with narrow leaves and stripped stems. Some are very hard to find. This form is most common due to being TCed.

This form in my pic is different narrow leaves zebra stripes down the petioles.

Brian,

Have you done any crosses using the narrow leaved type shown in your picture? I used to have one like that many years ago. I'd love to be able to cross with that one.

I have crossed it with Odora and have around 28 forms. A few have a sheen to the leaves but not truely velvety. The stems are usually stripped and the veins are lighter in color.

Have any of the hybrids bloomed, and if so, did they produce good pollen?

Louisville, KY

I have gotten pollen off of several of the hybrids. They were crossed over onto Borneo Giant only a few inches tall now.
