mallard duck head

my male mallard head is starting to lose its green color and turning brown I have had him a year he was green head until now is this normal could it be he,s getting his winter coat or something thanks

i have never seen a mallard drake without a green head. r u shure it's not a rouen?

its head stayed green a 6 months untill now its turning brown.

I read a lot abouts prior to getting chickens --- I had contemplated getting them instead --- I remember reading something about the color not being as brilliant after the first molt.
