muscovey duck eggs or mallard duck eggs

my duck has laid some eggs they been there a week and they not set on them could these eggs be no good they just laid them and left them.

birds usually don't set till they have laid what they think is a full clutch. if u have a broody or an incubator set them under the broody hen or in the bator and they should be fine it's worth a shot. if u don't have either let them in the nest and see if she returns to them once she gets enough eggs laid in it.

she has about 8 eggs in it is that enough

my muscovies set when they have 13-15 eggs. they generally ahtch 10-12...

wish you could post a pic of the eggs. i don't have mallards, don't know what their eggs look like. but my pekins eggs are white with a thick chalkiness to the pigment, and my muscovies have a darker tint, sometimes greenish/black.

TF u got ducks, kool!!! i got eggs at this last show we were at while i was working the poultry barn and duck tent. the one pen was ducks and geese, lol i got 3 huge eggs in the bator i got no clue if they will hatch me ducks or geese. i hope they hatch we can't wait to see who our newest editions r!! i got 2 light blue eggs and a white one.

coolies! good luck, i am told hatching wtarefolw is tricky. you should also know that becasue the shells are so thick, the ducks use their bills to break the ducklings out... the only ones that survived the trip into my bator were the ones i helped out. somewhere i posted pictures.

we not only have the muscovies and pekins, we have two each [1 each crested] of dark rouens and fawn and white runners. hopefully one of each sex, who knows...

AND we have 8 blue swedish, hope to keep at least four of those... we found out we LOVE ducks!!!

nope didn't know that, how do i know when it is time? how long do u do duck eggs and goose eggs? 28 for duck's right? can't find my chart. in the pen that i can remember were- runners, crested ducks, white ducks with red warty looking heads, chinease geese, telous, drk green/black ducks. i think there was a few others too.

didn't get any eggs from the little ducks on the other side. would have loved to though!! they had mallards, snowey calls, cuyanga(sp?) mabe, other calls and bantam ones.
