Bad review on Cook top scrubbing pads!!!

I bought some Weinman Cook Top scrubbing pads that are pink and sworn to scrub off *safely* any burned on foods! I used it with Cerama Bryte glass-ceramic cooktop cleaner (always used with a paper towel before) and my glass cooktop has new scratches in it. I would recommend against using this new scrubbing pad product!

Any other ideas on it? I was good with a plain old razor blade till I decided to try this new thing...now I have the scratches. Arg!!!!
