Hello fellow garderners
I was doing site search about trees yesterday (to combat the heat/sun I'm not crazy about) and came upon the Dave's Garden site. I can't believe I've missed it all these years of gardening mistakes/disappointments & yes, some successes here in the Mojave Desert. Since yesterday I've done hardly anything except for reading the various threads in some of the forums and just now got into this new member one so I thought I'd say hi & introduce myself.
I live in the Mojave Desert, California City CA to be exact, and have been trying for 16 years to get a fabulous garden like I see in pictures. I can't tell you how many garden books I have. Each year I take a week off work in the Spring to work on my gardens, then summer comes and basically erases what I've done & provides me a blank slate to start over again the next year. If I get 2 - 3 plants to last through summer I feel lucky. Anyway, I just wanted to say hello & hope to learn much from my fellow garden lovers.

Hi CP and welcome !! That must get expensive when every year you have to start on a blank slate. Hope you can get more to come back---all the best to you....

Welcome from Japan. Never lived in the US but California sounds like climate similar but maybe wetter.
