Maybe a sparrow. Adult. I found the bird when I went out to feed my rabbits this morning. He falls to one side, but can stand up. He had a tick attached to one eyelid. I have removed the tick and got him to drink a few drops of water.
I put him in a box with hay and brought him inside away from the cats and dogs.
i gave him water and steel cut oats/sunflower seeds.
Any suggestions for helping this bird?
Can I help this bird?
A trip to a vet for removal of the tick, and further advice. Best done in conjunction with a state-licensed rehabilitator.

gloria...you could also check this sticky http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/805666/ and scroll to Jan 30 where there are website links for rehabbers. Good luck to you.
Thanks for the response. The little bird is dead.
Sorry to hear that Gloria. At least he had a nice comfortable spot for a while.
I guess whatever happened to him must have been a few days ago for the tick to get attached. He was gasping for breath, so I guess in reality he was already gone. I will find him a peaceful final resting place.
So sorry Gloria.
