Funny smell

I purchased some Sol-U-Guard Botanical Disinfectant from Melaleuka recently thinking that it seems to be a little more eco-friendly then many cleaners yet does help disinfect which I would like for bathrooms and countertops at least weekly. The main active ingrediant is Thymol (in Thyme oil), so I hoped it would at least just smell a little herbaceous. It stinks!!!!! It smells very medicinal, almost like I dropped a bottle of listerine in the bathroom. Does anybody have any remedies other than the trash? I even diluted it half and half with water and it just makes the house smell bad. Does anyone know of anything similar that smells good? Surely there's a way to be friendly with the environment, reasonably clean and smell good.
