Just wanted to say I'm back

Beaumont, TX(Zone 9a)

I developed sever back pain and have been out of work since then and my computer crash last month, so I have been away for a while. My computer died on the 18th and I had back surgery on the 21st. I got the computer back online this week. I still have until the end of October before I can return to work (I've been out since the end of June). But I'm doing much better and am able to get around fairly well on my own.

I'm glad to hear that you are doing better. You have been in my thoughts and prayers. I still smile everytime I see the plants you gave me. The angelonia is my favorite right now. Will it survive the winter with some pine mulch for the few freezing nights we have? What do you do for yours during the winter? It would be sad to loose such a beautiful plant

Tabitha, last year was the first year I planted it and it came back this spring. I didn't do anything special. As a matter of fact the plants I gave you were cuttings I took last summer and the sat outside all winter in pots and still made it. The only protection any of my plants got last year is that they are on the south side of my home so the north wind isn't as bad on them.

That is good to know!

I know how it is to have back pain and I hope the surgery has eliminated that for you. Be careful and don't over do it during your recovery. Glad you got your computer back online.
This year is pretty much a wash in the garden for you since your are recovering. But when everything dies back and you are feeling better, don't try to do too much and have a set back. Wait until spring and you have complete healing before doing any lifting etc. I didn't and had to have a second as did my DH.
I had surgery the first time in Sept. and in Dec undone the work by picking up limbs. Had therapy and got a little better then sneezed while "bending over to put something away" in Feb. Had to have surgery again that April. I learned my lesson hopefully and have tried to watch my actions more carefully. It has been two years without pain now. I wish success for you my DG friend.
