Spicebush Swallowtail (Papilio troilus)
Hummm.. I know the Spicebush ST and the Eastern Black Swallowtails are similar. Could this picture be a female EBST? The orange spots with the black dots in the center are specific to EBST, correct?
Uh Ohhhh
How do I fix this?
First, make sure my novice observation of your picture is truely that of a female Eastern Black Swallowtail. You could d-mail a butterfly expert, like mellielong (an excellent butterlier and Dave's member) and link your pictures for her to confirm. Then, to fix on the insect forum page there is a "report an error" button. Dave's adminstration should be able to move your pictures to the correct butterfly.

Thanks, Ill get to it asap!
It's easy to take a pick when they're very cold from the morning chill hehe. If she'd/he'd been warm I'd have been chasing it around all day!
thank you very much!
Jocie.
