Hi, All,
I was out looking at my Calico Pipevine when I got home from work today, just to see how many new Polydamas eggs were there. On the underside of one leaf I found some different eggs. They are about half the size of the Poly's, and a real pale yellow compared to the mustard yellow of the Poly eggs. There's 5 of them in a circle real close together. Does anyone know what these are?

New found egg question - what is it?
My first thought is that they might be "duds". Wait, are they shaped like little footballs? They might be ladybug eggs - those are yellow. Hopefully, someone else will have some ideas. Let us know if they change or if they hatch!

Terrie,
Got a photo? Do they look barrel shaped? They might be cinch bug eggs.
If you have a chance look at the Bug Eggs album on my community webshots to see if any of those look familiar. I've tried to photograph bug eggs and the critter that emerges when I can.

Nope, they're not ladybug eggs. I get lots of those on other plants. These are perfectly round, and very light in color. I'll try and get a picture tonight, but my "zoom" camera does a whole lot better on things far away then on up close. 8*D
Cat, I'll try and take a look at your pics at lunchtime today. Thanks for the link.
I brought the eggs in and am gonna keep an eye on them. I'm still a bit skittish with new things after my encounter with the IO cats last week. 8*D

Here's a couple of pictures. I couldn't get really close and still have the pic in focus. This probably won't help much, but it'll give you an idea of how tiny they are. There are five eggs in a circle. And still really light colored - almost white with just a tinge of yellow.

Ayeee...so tiny! Can't rightly tell. On a guess I'm saying some type of predatory bug. Guess you'll have to let us know when they hatch :o)

Will do.
