hi there folks,
as many of you might know, i recently had to move my entire garden in 30 days, during the heat of the summer. this would not have been possible without the enormous amount of help that many Texas DGers gave in coming and actually digging my garden! there were many, many other great folks on this forum that were very comforting in their suggestions, prayers, advice and compassion. it has made a very difficult period much more bearable. thanks again to all of you! :) anyway, NPR did a story on the move and i think they did a good job. i just finished doing an interview with a reporter from Texas Gardener Monthly Magazine and she is also doing a print article. i made it very clear that the real story is the enormous amount of human spirit that is still to be found, especially among gardeners! i sent her a bunch of pictures of my garden before, during the move and after. it seems it will not be published for several more months, much more lag time in the print media, but i will keep you guys posted.

New Update on Aggiegrl's Garden: Texas Gardener Magazine
Do keep us posted. I would like to get the Texas magazine when it comes out with your article.
What is NPR? Is that a local newspaper?

That is so heartwarming. And the fact that you pointed out and emphasized that this was a human interest story is so commendable. Isn't it nice when good deeds go noticed? Love the story and will look forward to seeing it in print.

NPR is National Public Radio. it went out nationwide on their "All Things Considered" segment. if you want to listen to it, it is on their website here:

my favorite parts were when my daughter is interviewed! i think i sound like a dork, i talk even faster when nerveous! lol

I listened to the interview and thought you sounded great - not like a hick (that some thought you would sound like or some uneducated something w/a twangy "Texas" voice - but like someone who was determined not to be brought down - ever. Congratulations! Maybe some other landlords will have second thoughts about kicking people out of what they have made a "home".

Hello everyone,
The Dave's Garden story about aggiegrl's Day Lily move publishes today! :-)
Here is the link:

P.S. Please do NOT mention the ex-husband in any comments on the story as we want to leave the story for aggiegrl's children to enjoy.
Thanks,
April
