If a bloom was germinated,

about how long would it take for seeds to develop fully? i ask cuz i bring the brugs into dormancy through the winter & wondered if any seeds would have enough time to develop b4 that.

Morph, once the bloom is pollinated, it may take up to 4 months for the seeds to ripen. When you take the plants in, would you be able to keep it growing even if it does so slowly? It may take longer for the seeds to mature, but at least it would have a chance of maturing. I have had Brugs bloom, get pollinated and grow while in the greenhouse. I keep the thermostat set at 45ºF. The plants never go into dormancy. The pods formed in the greenhouse don't mature until well after the plants leave the greenhouse. Don't prune the plants when you take them indoors if you want them to continue growing.

Thanks, BettyDee... The reason i resorted to dormancy was that i never had success in keeping various aphids/insects at bay when i brought the plants indoors. I actually have Avid 0.15EC Mitcide/Insecticide for this very reason. But, as i recall, i still had trouble with unknown insects once the plants were brought indoors.

I don't know if these blooms were actually pollinated and i guess i don't know that harvesting seeds is a priority. I just got to thinking that we have about 6 weeks b4 i have to migrate the brugs back inside. I was curious if that would be enough time for seeds to develop.

Thanks for the advice because i will monitor the only 2 of 6 brugs that actually bloomed to see if seed pods develop. Then, i'll decide if i should pursue your advice. I really appreciate the help! morph

You're welcome. You should know within a week or two whether the blooms were pollinated. If pest are that much of a problem, consider purchasing seed from sellers at the MarketPlace. I know it's not the same as growing your own seed pod, but it sure beats having to deal with pests.
