I see you have a wonderful Globe Thistle...I have had one plant for a couple of years, it blooms great, but it hasn't spread or self sowed or anything! any suggestions?

Well, I've wondered about this, too. Mine is the same way. It blooms just fine--and has spread a little (in width of the original plant--not in new plants) but hasn't self-sowed. The area around it is fairly thickly planted (I have a small garden and am inclined to plant closely). But there is SOME bare ground, so I'd expected it to self-sow at least a little.

well...at least my plant isn't alone in it's refusal to self sow. Have you ever deadheaded it and attempted to manually sow the seeds? Thinking about doing that if there are any seeds left.

I haven't, but I did initially grow this plant from seed. It took it a couple of years to bloom, but it's done just fine since then. I'd guess it's worth a try.

thanks! since you started yours from a seed....i'm going to give it a try.
