Help: What to look for in a Stable

I mostly post on the Daylily forum as my name suggests, but my 10 year old daughter wants to ride and I am looking for advice. I want to start her on lessons. What should I look for? I also might take some myself. I was interested as a kid, but the money was not there.

We live in Madison, AL (35757) if anyone happens to know of a good one close to us.
