It was doing real well, then just folded over. Did it get too wet? We've had some rain recently. This was before,
What happened to my Amazonica?
I assume your Amazonica was outside and exposed to the rain. If so, that is the problem. Amazonicas and others of what I call the "jewel" Alocasias are quite finicky and prone to sudden rot-off when too wet. They do best when kept on the dry side most of the time. If yours got drenched in a rain shower, that is usually all it takes to send one over the edge.
Thanks LariAnn, that's what happened. Will it come back? I have a second one that I guess I should move to an area of the deck that doesn't get wet.
The one that has rotted will probably not come back. If you unpot it, you may find some corms that you could try to grow new plants from, but I would clean them well before planting and then hope for the best.
Thanks, I'll try that and wait and see.
