I bought this plumeria off ebay close to 2 years ago, it was grafted and rooted. The company is still selling them on ebay as Orange J 4. I bought it before I heard about RMV, now that I know about it I'm really worried that mine may have it. It finally started blooming this week and I'm very impressed, it's just beautiful. The reason I am asking if it has the virus is that if you look at the flower you can see the small streak of pink which is darker than the other parts.....is that RMV? The leaves have little red blotches too.
Here's the flower
Does my Plumeria have a virus?
Astcgirl, I'm not sure what RMV is. There is FMV, which is Frangipani Mosaic Tobamovirus. In any case, I don't think that yours has it. That isn't considered a color break. Some flowers have that.

Opps.....thanks Clare_CA for correcting me.....I did mean that I just had it confused with Rose Mosaic Virus RMV. I knew there was something similar on Plumeria's...it's just so sad to look after a plant for a few years to wait anxiously for flowers and then find out it has a virus......hopefully as you said mine may not have it....my fingers are crossed.
No problem -- I see what you meant now.
I hear you because I've been there and done that with Brugs. I had to destroy a lot of my brugs because of a virus.
I really don't think that yours has it. I consulted my friend Kukiat about this, and he is very knowledgeable in this and other areas, and he said that he does not believe it to be virus-related. Here is a picture of my 'Chocko Delight' that is doing the same thing.
Yes your Chocko Delight shows the same small "bleeding" as mine....thank you for asking your dear friend, I've had a look and admired Kukiat's website a while back when you mentioned it once. I'm so glad to hear it isn't the virus, I'll keep an eye on it, but it surely doesn't have as many streaks as the "Cooktown Sunset" you pictured.
Thanks again Clare
Here's a picture of my yellow unkown that bloomed just before also.....so far these are the only two (and one info from the coop) that have bloomed for me this season.
That's a lovely yellow, and your rainbow above is beautiful too, which I forgot to mention!
I've learned so much from Kukiat, and he is such a dear friend. His web site is really great too. I go there often just to look at his amazing pictures! ^_^
