I have a few Game Fowl hens with broods. I was out feeding them a few minutes ago. A small hawk flew over and circled back ... larger than a Kestral. Obvious he was looking for a meal. As the hawk circled overhead one Game Fowl hen flew onto the roof of our house then launched herself up into the air at the hawk .... flying upward an additional 20 ft. I swear on a stack of bibles ... she was up in the air about 40 ft flying at this hawk who was hunting her babies. She got within a foot of the hawk. I've never seen anything like it in all my life. I've seen little birds chasing a hawk or crow .... but a chicken. This is one for the record book.

Incredibly high chicken
Wow, that's a brave game fowl hen! Good for her! Amazing what a little bit of a threat will do! It's like people getting a jolt of adrenaline and lifting things they couldn't normally lift, etc. I think that hen should get an extra treat today for the supreme effort!

I looked at the house and reduced the high to 35 ft .... still incredible. Kelly
a mama chickens gotta do what a mamachicken's gotta do! next time i bet she'll catch that hawk and feed it to the biddies!
Now that would be justice at its best!!
