Wine Recipe Question

Hello,

I'm not sure if someone here can help. I can't seem to find a winemaking forum here. A while back someone had a link to wine recipes. There I found one I had been looking for for years. It wasn't really that specific in terms of amounts of yeast. It just said "a packet of yeast". Anyone that makes homemade wine out there?? I bought wine yeast in a 5 grm. pack. The recipe is for one gallon of wine. Do I add the whole pack? None of the recipes I look at really specify yeast amounts. A lot of them just say add wine yeast. I'm in over my head.:)) I already started this and then read some more and now I'm really thinking I screwed the pooch with too much yeast. Thanks a bunch for any help.
