Robert, Amanda - Thinking about you :(

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

You two seem to be in the path of this years hurricane season, so far. I know they are minimal, but they can still do major damage outside.
Are both of you holding up ok? My prayers and thoughts are with you.

I've been thinking about you both too. Two storms in two weeks, Wow. Hopefully this fulfills your quota for 2008.

Aww, thanks! Well, Robert may be experiencing more than I am since the storm landed more in his neck of the woods. Here, we are just experiencing light rain and strong winds. All in all, the whole thing this time around is much easier to stomach than what it could be. I think more than anything, what we'll have to watch for will be flooding in areas where drainage is poor, but we;ve been having a drought around here lately so the ground should soak a lot of this right up.

My job "closed up shop" yesterday at noon and won't reopen until tomorrow, just in case this was going to be a bad one so that we could all be prepared. So, I'm enjoying my time off today! And my palm trees are really enjoying this rain! (My hibiscus get daily watering but I can't quite reach the palm trees).

You are both so sweet to express your concerns for us! Thank you very much and I'm sure that Robert will get on as soon as he gets a chance and say thanks as well. Hopefully there won't be any power outages where he is.

Glad you're OK Amanda! Hopefully Robert is OK too and will check in soon!

Thanks ecrane, I hope he will, too.

After seeing this thread I went outside with an umbrella and took some shots of today's "bloomies." I've got some from Robert that should bloom very soon for the first time for me and I'm anxiously waiting on those (Yoda, Susan Schlueter, etc). But for now, first up is Snow Queen

Second is a more normal Carolina Breeze bloom since the sun is hidden behind the clouds today.

Third is a very wet Rum Runner ... still pretty magenta for this time of day but as I said ... it's been a dark one.

Fourth is a bad shot of my Schizo. This one has four blooms today.

This next shot is of my backyard during Edouard.

Second shot of my yard during Edouard.

As you can see ... I really need to move this Philodendron out from the Brug bed. Have to wait until the fall for that but I'm scared because of how massive the root system is for the Brugs and the Philo, and how entertwined they will be by now.

I'm quickly filling up my yard with hibs so that I can try to have the collection that you guys have!

Thanks ya'll

Were OK here so far. Go figure an almost dead on hit here Again! I have not ventured out to the GH's yet. He have had winds up to around 50 to 60mph since we were graced with the eye or center of circulation. The winds hit 65mph night before last in a freak storm and sucked the doors off of the gh's. Repaired yesterday to be ready for this storm. Maybe i need to be in another business but I enjoy this oh so much. LOL Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers.

Robert
