Hi, My DH and I are consdering a move to Charlotte for my work. We wanted to look for rentals or a house but I am not sure what areas would be good to start in by browsing on the web -there are thousands of listings!
Can anyone help us out with the name of an area that is within 45 minutes of Rose Lake Dr in Charlotte, zip code 28217? Being we are in our late 50's we need and area that is safe to walk around in at night, without a lot of traffic noise. Any suggestions are appreciated!
Thanks,
terri
Need advice on Charlotte
I have lived here for a year, but can hardly locate anything. A realtor is just what you need to point out areas that might be near where you want to be. That's probably your best bet. Good luck!!

One note. Charlotte is very hot.
Yes; Charlotte is very hot weatherwise. The SouthPark area, Ballantyne and Stonehaven areas are all good neighborhoods. We lived in Charlotte for 18 years before moving out. Traffic is horrendous and taxes are skyrocketing. We don't go there unless absolutely necessary. Maybe you should consider a suburb. Weather will still be hot, but everything else is better. 28217 is south? Charlotte, I think.
I suggest Matthews or better still Monroe,
Quiter and less traffic.

For a quiet, safe neighborhood for the over 50 crowd, there is a Sun City up there. It is on the SC side of the line (around Lancaster) so taxes will be a little less. I have a friend who loves it there.
I don't remember what you said you do but you can always move to the coast with me. And bring all your flowers.
Morehead is just accross the Ferry with Havelock and Beaufoirt.
Its quiet and you can walk anywhere and watch the water also.

Thanks, all your suggestions help give me a chance to do some web surfing and planning.
Lavina, sorry to disappoint but the flowers will stay in SoBo, I'm hoping to only have to stay in Charlotte 3 days per week. Right now I work part time but am trying to wangle full time as money is tight and the closest office is Charlotte.
