Hello from Central Virginia!

Locust Grove, VA(Zone 7a)

Hi everyone!! I'm a new subscriber and would like to say hello. I'm a life-long gardener and a more recent gardening crafter/artist. I press and dry flowers to make greeting cards, bookmarks, mini arrangements, wreaths, jewelry, magnets, and paperweights. I'm very excited to get into the DG Marketplace and offer some of my "creations" for sale, as well as seeds and plant divisions. It's great to have a way to buy, sell, and trade with other gardeners - I'm so psyched!!! Happy gardening! Laurie

Welcome Laurie!
DG is a wonderful place to be and I certainly hope you love it here:-) Check out specific forums to match your passions and then some others to start whole new passions, lol! If there's anything we can do to help you navigate around let us know...there are great folks around here who are very generous with their knowlege.
Hint: You can check out plant trading and seed trading to get new and wonderous things for your collections!

Thanks for the welcome, frank! Here's a sneak preview of what I create with pressed and dried flowers. This photo is a framed picture with pressed flowers in a vase. I used a mixture of wildflowers from my woods and flowers from my garden. Laurie

Hi Bev and Laura,
I'm looking forward to some trading - I need to dig into my gardening records and see exactly what species of plants I have. Wish I'd been more organized - have lots of receipts, clippings from catalogs, and old notes stuffed in a box, waiting to be put into a notebook. I've started a trades list but will be working on it for a while.

I'm thinking of offering some of the jewelry I make as a swap for plants - I have lots of earrings in stock, and saw a forum for swaps, trades, and giveaways. What a great idea! Feed my plant addiction with my beading habit - LOL!

Here's one more photo of the type of thing I like to make with flowers - dried flowers in a tiny ceramic watering can. It has strawflowers, Shasta daisies, German statice, and bachelor's button. I like to add a little something to each arrangement, like the metal button cover in the photo, or one of my beaded butterflies or ladybugs.

See you all in the forums, trades, and Marketplace!
Laurie
