Over the years i have bought 6. Some got to be 8ft. tall and some had pups. Within 4weeks all had died. Most got a dart spot in the middle of trunk, then rotted and fell over. Even the pups died. After 4yrs. i bought 2 more. One has allready died! The other is growing and doing well, well for NOW. Time will tell. All of the pictures of the old Ae-Ae's are on print film. Need to see if they can be transferred to digital some way. Jerry

Sorry for the slow respond, yes, you guy were right about the musa ae banana I had almost for over a year. At first I put it in the shade area, and it grow bigger under the tent,so I have to move to sunny location and leaves got burn. But as long as it is ok, I dont bother to worry about it. The only concern I have is the Santa Ana wind in the winter, it might be bad for the banana tree since the wind is hot and dry. I am not sure it will make it in this winter time but I will wait and see. And thanks for the suggestion repotting my anthuriums, I probably need to buy bigger pot later on. Here is the picture of Banana tree if anyone is interested

A suggestion for those who have Ae-Ae bananas - variegated plants and those with tubers/corms/bulbs need more phosphorus than nitrogen in their fert mix. Phosphorus is critical for biochemical energy transactions in the cells, and also for the production of tissue that lacks chlorophyll. A good way to kill off an Ae-Ae is to give it too much nitrogen.

I'd recommend a "bloom booster" mix (example: 15-30-15). Try it and see!
