Oh goody....I get to start.... Here is H. lamingtoniae.... actually full of flowers.
Edited to say that I have been VERY bad about posting photos in the plant files....we have these wonderful threads about plants and blooms!! What an opportunity to add to DG Plant Files. I am going to make an effort to do that... hope you will all join me!

Blooming August
This, for me, is the most wonderful pottsii of all: IML 1391 from Vietnam. I nearly lost the mother plant...to much water. So I took cuttings early this year and they are blooming...some with 2 or 3 umbels. GREAT fragrance (to me :>). Now I grow it very dry...very dry like H. pachyclada. Sorry it is so washed out...I have a devil of a time with white in the bright light!

Great photos!! I love the lamingtoniae, it looks kinda looks like the subcalva.

Why is this the most wonderful Pottsii of all? Color? Fragrance? Ease of blooming? Inquiring minds want to know :)
Shelley
P.S. It IS pretty, but my experience with Pottsii is very limited, so any info. is appreciated....
Ease of growing and blooming....fragrance. It is a blooming fool during these months...on and on and on.....
To me it looks more like H. acuta or H. verticillata ....
Lovely blooms Carol! Wow, some new ones (to me) that I can look up info on! And, I know already there are a couple I will be adding to my wish list! LOL. That color is awesome on the lamingtoniae! And ... OMG, that pauciflora is so cool! I love that huge bloom!
Beautiful blooms. I see that my 'want' list is growing.
Thanks Carol---and now that you mention it, it does look like my verticillata blooms...I LOVED their fragrance (very spicy), and now it's got buds on two more peduncles, this despite being ripped out of its pot and banged around my deck earlier this summer by my very bouncy (and very bored) puppy---now THAT'S a tough hoya :-)
Shelley
Awanda, nice flowers!! That looks like cv pink silver.
Mark, great close up photo! I have trouble keeping serpens alive but I have a small one actually growing. Crossing my fingers & toes. Lucky for me, I don't have a problem with an off spring of serpens mathilde.
Jan
Jan, serpens seems to like cold (or at least cool) conditions. My plant has thrived both inside and outside (year-round), and is very non-fussy about water, I guess because it is so happy about the temps. It rarely is exposed to anything over 75' F, and has gone through temps in the lower 40's with no problem. In fact, it has done most of its growing in the winter months for me, though it seems to bloom in the summer.
I have 'Mathilde' too- I have heard other people say it is a lot less fussy than serpens can be, even when kept warmer. Julia (JuliaSF) has a huge 'Mathilde' that has been covered in blooms every time I have seen it.
Awanda, lovely blooms! Montana is really nice with those yellow flowers. I have never heard of that one. Pink Silver is really pretty. I have one of those and can't wait to get a bloom!
Mark: I am so glad to see that photo of H. serpens! Wow, nice plant and a very pretty flower. I received serpens in a trade a couple of months ago and was told it would do well in a terrarium so I stuck it in my 10 gal terrarium. It seems to love it in there but I'm wondering if it would be better potted up? And, you say it likes cool conditions? I wonder if I should remove it from the terrarium and pot it up. I will definitely keep it in the air conditioned house if it prefers cool.
H. serpens trailing in amongst a bunch of other plants in the terrarium:
Well, if it's happy, maybe don't mess with it. It looks pretty healthy.
Maybe try one in the terrarium and one in the house and compare?
Mark, I love those Serpens blooms.
I have a plant about that size, maybe not quite as long runners but it's had tiny penduncles for months but they don't grow. I have it outside now but I 'm thinking since it's been in the 90's lately if it likes it cooler maybe I should bring it inside.
I'll see if that makes any differance.
Jo
Suz,
It is do exciting to have a cutting flower, congrats!!!
Jan
Suz, I have that cutting from DL too, it will be exciting to see the flower!
Keep us posted...
Rule #1 - Never count your chickens...errrr Hoya blooms....before they hatch-bloom
Rule #2 - Never MOVE a budded hoya to another location to take a picture
Rule #3- Never announce to the Hoya Forum you have a plant in BUD!!!!
Well, I broke all the rules and the bud blasted.....darn, darn, darn....So I put the plant back where it was and am hoping for another miracle....will keep you posted!
Sue M
Suz, if it already has a peduncle and tried once, I'll bet it will try again soon.
Keeping my fingers crossed!
Sue
Sue,
Don't feel too bad! I recently accidentally knocked a whole peduncle off while trying to photograph it....the horror.....

That ds-70 is an AWESOME plant, with all those peduncles. Lyn, you must feel like your'e in paradise with the fragrance from al the flowers.
Yep, I love the ds-70. This is one of those EA plants ... the first hoya I bought after joining DG and hearing about all the different hoya's out there! As I've said before I have a Krimson Princess that was given to me in the mid 70's by some dear elderly friends (now deceased), and I always liked the plant okay, it bloomed once in awhile but I never really paid much attention to it. The flowers are pretty but not fragrant. I have divided that one over the years and have 3 separate pots. After joining DG and reading about hoyas on this forum and seeing all the great photo's I happened to be in Home Depot one day and found this little EA plant that just said hoya, so on a whim I bought it and someone here ID'd it for me. I was so thrilled when it first bloomed but didn't like the scent of the flowers. It has really grown on me though .. I think it would be overpowering if it were inside the house but out on my pool deck it just scents the entire area in the evening and it is very enjoyable to be out there! My next acquisition was another one I found at HD ... the brevialata which is almost the same size as the ds-70, it just doesn't bloom as much. I also found lacunosa at HD which has the most wonderful fragrance! I kinda worried about different ones blooming at the same time with all the different fragrances but so far it's been heavenly!
Carol: That heuschkeliana is really great! Wow! A good sized one! I have a little 3" pot of heuschkeliana that I received in a house plant trade last fall and it is doing well - can't wait for it to start blooming! So, that's the one that smells of buttered popcorn? Oooh ... and yellow flowers? Ok, do they come in more than the yellow color? If so, I will be really happy if mine is the yellow flowering one!
Great idea of putting the drop cloth behind to photograph the plants. I've seen a lady on the AV forum do it with her plants, she always uses black velvet and it really makes the plants pop! I should take the time to try that sometime. My pic's are always a bit hard to see when I take it of the entire plant because of all the other greenery out on my deck and in the yard.
