We just moved to our new house and the first hanging basket I put up was immediately occupied. I've seen the mother bird fly out twice, but she is small and flies very quickly away so all I see is a blur. We've checked the nest every few days and this is what we found last night. One egg had hatched and the baby thought I was the momma coming to feed him. Any idea who this is? The nest is actually covered from the top and you have to look into it from the side to see.
Thanks,
Kristen
new nest
Looks like a Carolina Wrens nest to me. I also have one in a hanging basket.
Thank you! The state bird of SC nesting on my front porch :-) You have two Brownies who will be thrilled tomorrow to be able to read about them when I tell them what they are.
