I have 2 different foetidas that are setting fruit, they'll look like they're going strong, then they get to about 3/4" long then soften and eventually fall off. Is it the heat?

Do they stay Green and how long have they been on the vine?
I believe they should both turn red when ripe Paul, but they start out green and are green when they fall off. They are not on the vine long, less than week but I'm not sure exactly. I think they've stopped setting fruit all together now, and it's been too hot, it must be the heat.
next time open one see what coulr the seeds are i have one the fruit gets a orange coulr its love in the mist paul
I will check. Mine are hirsuta and arizonica.
Inside was dry!! No flesh at all, tiny white, underdeveloped, dry seeds :( So what's wrong with my plant? Can I add something to fix this or is it the heat?
id say the heat but try giveing more water during fruting
It gets plenty of water.....there are canna near it on either side :o)
