Car Travel - 2900 mi. w/ 4 dogs - suggestions please!

Carnation, WA(Zone 7b)

We (2 adults/3 teenage-preteen kids) are getting ready to leave NC for WA and we will be driving a Ford Expedition & 26 ft. panel truck. Our plan is to have 3 people in the panel truck with 2 furry kids and 2 in the Exp. with 1 - 10 mo. old neutered Great Dane traveling the full length, driver's side; 1 - 3 mo. old female Great Dane in a larger wire crate, passenger's side;

either 1 - male Havanese in a smaller crate in the center (gets car sick) and 1 female Havanese in the passenger seat with rider OR 2 cats in separate crates in the center. SEEKING recommendations on which 2 furry kids should ride in the panel truck.

Older GD is good with smaller dogs, not interested in cats although cats are VERY interested in him. Everyone gets along inside and cats are barn cats (outside).

Our plan is to make the trip in 6 days, feed and water in the morning and stop for 'pit stops' every 2 or 3 hours with more water as needed and feed/walk at night when we stop at pet friendly hotels.

I realize this sounds crazy, I agree, but we're past that stage of evaluation. Leaving anyone behind is not an option nor is shipping - we're doing that with 2 horses. We're taking the dream job transfer and moving as a family. What I need to know is would you stop more/less often? Would you feed smaller quantities due to the lack of movement during the trip? Would you lightly medicate for travel purposes? Would you wing it and trust your gut? What would you not do?

Any suggestions or insight you care to offer would be most welcome - including thinking I'm crazy. Thanks, Kris
