Florida vacation pictures...
Awanda,
What great photo's! Looks like y'all had a wonderful time on your cruise and in Florida! Did you enjoy all the humidity we have down this way? LOL. The older I get the more I can't stand it and would love living in a dryer climate, although I have extremely dry, sensitive skin and it would be even worse in a dry climate.
Is that your granddaughter getting her hair braided? I remember our first trip to the bahamas years ago and my niece who was about 9 at the time (she is now 28) she had very long hair down to her butt and begged her mom to let her get her hair braided. That child was in tears the way the lady was tugging and pulling on her hair! It took 2 hours and it looked so cute with all the pretty beads in the braids. She loved it when it was done and kept it braided for the entire week and even another week or so when we came home.
I have family in Fort Lauderdale and have never visited Palm Hammock Estates ... can't believe I've never gone there. I've seen photo's and heard so much about it, one of these days I've got to make a point to go.
Where all did your cruise ship stop? I've been to Nassau once and to the Abaco's a couple of times. We love the islands of the Bahama's. When we vacation there, we stay in the Abaco's. The last time we went we rented a house on Hope Town for a week. My husband is hoping to be able to take our boat back over next summer since we haven't been in a few years. I won't go out in the ocean on our little 24' boat, so I fly over and meet him. It's less than an hour flight from Fort Lauderdale to Marsh Harbour. It's a very laid back type vacation but very peaceful and restful ... we live in our bathing suits when we are there. Aren't the waters just beautiful? My DH and a couple of our friends are scuba divers, my brother in law and nephew are fishermen, so we always have great grilled or fried fish dinners! My sister and the rest of us ladies like to swim and shop ... so we have the best of times when we get to vacation there.
We did have an wonderful time! Nope that's not my granddaughter; I was just surprised to see so many places where there was hair braiding. Every place we stopped we saw hair braiding stations. NCL has a private island out in the middle of nowhere, and we had to be tendered over. Well they had a big bar bq, a band, straw shops, scuba diving, para sailing and if it hadn't been so darn humid, it would have been wonderful:-). I can take our 112 dry heat much better than the humidity. My box of plants from Palm Hammock arrived today!!
Blessings,
Awanda
Oh my goodness .. what a great looking bunch of plants! Do I see Epi's and Hoya's?
On our first trip to the Bahamas, years ago ... everywhere on the beach, Bahamian ladies would be walking around trying to get people to let them braid their hair!
