This Remote Hybrid System lamp standard and webcam system looks promising. It's a street light with a solar panel and vertical axis wind turbine built in.

Since it doesn't need to be connected to the grid, no trenching for wires are needed. This could save a lot of money for municipalities.

I think it could make many areas safer by providing light even if the power grid goes down.
