Ragged cut end on a cutting

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

I just received a healthy branched cutting I bought. Although the cut end looks dry enough to pot, it is ragged and the cambium layer has separated from the woody interior. Should I make a clean cut and let it dry before planting? Or will this be OK to plant now? Please excuse the blurry photo, my camera is fried, but I was able to get one more photo out of it.

I would just plant it as it is. It will probably root better that way with the cambium exposed.
