That's a great upside to the rain and snow diggindirt. I think that rates a 'honkin big' classification in my book eyeing it up with the foliage. What's the diameter? Thanks.

Nice one diggin'!

Wow Robert. Your peonies aren't still blooming are they? Come to think of it, I think my last one just faded away a few days ago. Late spring here, but we are eating ripe tomatoes.

OUTSTANDING diggin_dirt.

Robert, everything was late in my garden too, but not as late as yours. Things are catching up now. The daylilies are lapping the lilies and the rudbeckias have already started.

Interesting about that peony. Have you had it for a number of years? Do you think maybe a piece of root from another peony may have travelled along with it? took awhile to get to blooming size? I guess you'd have to dig it up and closely examine the roots to see. Were some of the flowers single this year? Wonder what it will do next year. If it truly is part of the plant, I suppose you could say you have a sport.

Sometimes a seed drops and sprouts a new plant that grows right in with the mother, but for it to be a huge double like that would be very unusual. A single, would be more likely.

its a old one never though about there being two there it could be.but the singles are the same color, and it could have been a seed the crossed with another,i do have other peonies.

i though i had a pic of the single one.
