A new visitor

Marysville, WA(Zone 7a)

I turned the new fountain on this morning and later noticed a bird which I have not seen here before leisurely taking a sip from it. It was about the size of a Robin, dusky yellow breast and body, brown wings and had a mate which was all brown. Rather poor description, but can anyone tell what it might be ?

Hm-m-m, possibly some sort of warbler, because of the yellow.....There are so many of them. We never see them here, so I only know of them from books.

I just got a "free address labels" envelope from the Audubon Soc. and one of the pictures was a Yellow Warbler. I think you are right. Thank you.

Northumberland, United Kingdom(Zone 9a)

Not sure - Yellow Warbler (13cm, 9½g) is only half the length and an eighth of the weight of American Robin (25cm, 77g). Very conspicuously smaller!

Maybe check out these: Ash-throated Flycatcher, Western Kingbird, Western Tanager, and Western Meadowlark, and for the browner bird, Swainson's Thrush, Hermit Thrush, Black-headed Grosbeak, and Brown-headed Cowbird.

Any more details - what sort of bills did they have? And what sort of habitat is it? Urban? Suburban? Forested? Shrubland? Among open fields?
