My how the summer has flown by. It is hard to believe we are the end of the second of the three months we consider summer here in the midwest. It has been a wonderful season in so many ways. Much different than what we have been accustomed to in the past few years. We've gotten a good rain nearly every week. There are still cracks in the ground but they are small. Clay does that when it is hot.
It seems to be nice outside this morning. I just got up and went out to let the birds loose for the day. Penny mutt went out with me and right back inside. I need to spray the parts of the yard she goes in most for bugs as she seems to attract every insect out there that stings or bites. I need to get her Frontline again next week. It is the only product that helps her at all and even then I have to spray her with repellent if we are going to be outside for long. None of the other dogs or the cats seem to be bothered like she is. I've never had a Jack Russell Terrier before so I don't know if they are sensitive like this but we've have several Rat Terriers and they never had a flea. Even the almost solid white ones like Penny is.
Eating has been so - so this week. I'm finishing off the pumpkin pie for breakfast. It isn't all that bad, it has eggs, milk, reduced amounts of sugar & a vegetable, It's the crust that is the healthy eating killer. However I use canola oil in mine. I'll take some Metamucil capsules to grap that fat and be ok.
I'm going to ask on this thread and see if I can get some responses. Does anyone here take or know someone who takes Lyrica? I just started on it about a week and go and don't know if how I am feeling is the side effects I've been told about or if I am just feeling a bad fibro spell because I've been so busy and active maybe beyond what my body is wanting to do. I mentioned it on the forum for the disabled in a thread for those of us with fibro and got nothing but negative rants. So I'm looking for advice in other places. I certainly don't want to end up like some of them talked about.
I would like to lop off more huge weeds and pull more giant foxtail seedheads today. That is my big goal for the day. Not hard work, just time consuming. I don't know if I can get the seed heads to burn since it rained yesterday. That was a wonderful rain. It did slow down the drying of the garlic tho so I think I'll cut off the stalks a lot more & move it into the utility room in that big top cage and turn a fan on it to harden the skins. I think I see a garlic stalk out the window that I missed. I have them all over the yarden to help deter moles and voles in the beds. From the way Darcy & Nita have dug all over the beds I don't think it worked unless I trapped some in the beds when I planted it.
I wonder if Medicare would cover a traditional Chinese medicine person? It would be worth a try if it would.
Must go get started on my day. GOD bless and keep each of you.
