Bee Decline
Thanks for the referral :)
Hope alot participate. This is an issue also being pursued on the UBC Botanical Garden forum. There is a participant in that forum just south of Edmonton that has NO bees anymore. I think this is gonna hit us as hard as its hitting some of our American friends. Very scary stuff. Thanks for joining in redheadedwonder11. I sent it to a DG bud in France and hope he'll post it on the European forum as well. Better from him I think than a Canuck 'nut' poppin in.
I would love to get some hives going, but I don't think it would be very much appreciated in the city. I also don't know exactly what I'm doing because I have only ever worked with the bees for July and August.
Thought I'd pass this site on, might be of some interest. www.pollinationcanada.ca. We got the info from Seeds of Diversity and this is a joint venture with them and Environment Canada. It is not only for bees but explains all sort of pollinators, ways to protect them and how to make your garden pollinator friendly.
Thanks growum. This isn't hard to do or too time-consuming as you can do it online. Come one and all and participate. Thanks.
