Kyle, that's kind of neat when they do that. I have some Thai ones that are doing that too. I think they are Thai Mermaid Gem. I don't know why some seedlings of cultivars do that and others don't, but it could indicate a more compact tree, which is nice.

early branching
Its a good thing.

This is one branching but its 3 ft tall how cool is that to branch that young. If you look close you can see another small one starting at the bottom

Here's one of mine with four branches. It's a thai one as well.

Question how old are these seedlings are they just branching rather than growing tall? Sure are neat looking.

Mine is from April, so 4 months.

Very good for the color of the stalks on both of yours I would hang on to those. They both for sure are going to be special!

Thanks Dana. I only have one posted, but what is the coloring you're referring to? And what would a bad one look like? Thanks.

Mulberry, FL

There are no bad ones I go more for the darker color I think they just going to be a little more special.

Yes, that's true. Darker trunks and leaves could indicate a red, an orange, or a rainbow whereas the more greener stems and leaves could indicate a white or a yellow flower, but you just never know!

How interesting, thanks.

This is a seedling in its third year that is approximately 4-feet tall. It has never bloomed or nubbed. It is from a seed pod of a plumeria that I have had for several years and the parent is not a Thai variety.

I call it "Hat Rack" since that is what it reminds me.

I have one just like that. It makes a great multi-grafted tree.

Kyle i have some seedlings like yours most likely from the same place to i got a 100 mixed thi seeds paul

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Paul, I ended up with lots of different ones, very few pure green stems.(those are usually yellows and whites)Some deep red stems some brown, some who knows what color it is..so I figure we should get some pretty ones in a couple of years.

Dana, thanks for the pic! Now I know what to be on the lookout for.

Mulberry, FL

You can't just go by that. Those will be something special but the solid green tips I have one flowering now its 3 different colors so you never know. It looks to be a white but it has orange and light red bands so you never know till it flowers
