This little critter was found in my house today - I have no idea how it got in, except that I do go in and out of my house to my garden frequently. I quickly placed him in a glass jar before my dog had him for lunch!!
I believe he's a lizard?? He's now in my garden, hopefully safe.
I'm going to guess Mediterranean Gecko (Hemidactylus turcicus). Introduced to Florida in the early 1900s. Has spread throughout the southwest, including Virginia.
