Newbie to Passifloras

Palm Coast, FL(Zone 9a)

I'm new to growing passion flowers. I'd like all the advise I can get to help this become a very beautiful grower like the ones I've seen posted here. I purchased this one from Lowes, it's labeled "passion red". Any advise would be most appreciated. Thank you. Dorothy

The leaves look like those of P. vitafolia to me (I have this one). It's also known as the grape-leafed Passiflora.

Id rept to a bigger pot soon Paul

Yup. P. Vitifolia. I have some devouring a trellis (and part of a grapefruit tree).
They are beautiful AND prolific.

phicks, I've already planted outside. Since we've been having rain lately, it's getting lots of water, daily. I hope that it like the place where I've planted. Using an old trellis next to a fence (neighbor) that's really ugly, hopefully it will become a thing of beauty and cover the ugly fence. I'm also looking for a purple one, but they seem hard to find. Would anyone know where I could possibly find a purple??? Dorothy

Look for Passiflora "Incense". Pretty common one. You might find one at Home Depot.

Thanks gordo, will keep an eye out for "Incense". Some times Home Depot, especially the one were I live, can be pretty messy, things just all over the place, but will keep my eyes open. Dorothy
