Upcoming trades for early Fall

Summerville, SC(Zone 8a)

I am planning to have a number of plants for trade in middle to late September. I'm posting this now so if anyone is interested they can start rooting cuttings. All trades will be plants or well rooted cuttings, rhizomes, crowns or tubers. Trades should be equitable. After all plant trades are done, what is left over will go for postage.

I'd like to trade for abutilon, roses or zone 8 tropical perennials. I'd really love some red or doubled mandevilla.

Here is a partial list of what I will have, I will add to it as time goes on:

Brugmansia

Tiara - double white - 2 Trades
Yellow - either Sunray or Dr. Seuss .. can't get a consensus - single - 5 trades
Insignis Pink - single - 3 trades
Cherub - single dark pink - 1 trade

Canna

Bengal Tiger 2 rhizomes per trade 3 trades
Lemon Slice 2 rhizomes per trade 3 trades
Chocolate Cherry 1 rhizomes per trade 2 trades

Ginger (hedychium)

Hibiscus rosa-sinensis - El Capitolio Bloody Mary 1 trade Maybe 1 more if another NOID plant turns out to be El Capitolio

What sorts of tropical perennials? I have a few Passifloras that I don't know what I will do with come winter. I lost the tags on some so it may be a surprise to both of us.

Gingers, hibiscus, banana, crinum, canna, brugs etc.

Do you have any of the red Passiflora?

I have about 8 NOID Passifloras. When they bloom I will know what they are but right now the tags washed off so who knows.

Summerville, SC(Zone 8a)

I'd definitely be interested in the reds.

I did start Panama Red from seed but I couldn't tell you which one it is. I have 6-7 Maliformis and I am supposed to have Lady Margaret and Black Beauty. I am also supposed to have a couple more Alata but I don't know which is which. The only ones I can tell are the "Love in a mist" P. foetida and the Bat Wing Passiflora.

The Vigna in my list is this one:

My Vigna caracalla, the corkscrew vine is starting to bud. If all goes well I will have seeds and plants.

Please check that the gingers are hardy in zone 8.

X I some of my cardamoms in a pot and some in the ground as an experiment. It worked. The ones in the pot are doing better than the ones in the ground because they get watered regularly. Last winter was a really difficult one for me health wise and I did nothing for my yard. No mulch, fertilizer, no water. I really didn't think they would come up at all. I'll send a picture later.

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

X, just hi-jacking for a second, I hate to see anyone give up on any colocasias. I have black magic in several areas around the yard and if you have a spot with pretty deep shade that gets watered regularly, in rich soil (I guess where you are you'd add compost, manure, etc) they should do well. I have found that the ones in the most shade really grow fastest and largest. You probably have already tried all this, in that case disregard. My mom is in 8a on the coast with almost total sand, no shade, and swore she could not grow eears there. I made her a garden and created some shade...of course some of hers look better than mine now :)

Fair Grove, MO(Zone 6b)

X My Black Magic EE grow in the pond most years. Full sun, sunk to mid pot or to the top of the pot, no fertilizer. Some years they do great, some not. I overwintered them in the bathroom in a bucket of water here in Zone 6, even got babies by spring.

Summerville, SC(Zone 8a)

I dug mine up and put them in a pot in bright shade .. that was last week and already they look happier though the leaves are staying green.

I'm not familiar with flamboyant canna .. is that a cultivar and is it a tall one?
