Is this damage just from the heat (comfrey)?

Sad and feeling like a bad herb mommy! It's been SO hot and SO dry (until this hurricane hit down south -- and I'm very sorry for anyone it harmed in any way but I am really grateful for the rain) and though I've watered it every day, my comfrey just IS NOT HAPPY. Does this look like other-than-heat damage? Like, is it starving for some nutrient anyone knows of? I've tried epsom salts. Thanks!

Do you have it in full sun, by any chance? I had one in full sun and it didn't do well...showed brown on the leaves often. My new one I'm putting where it gets less sun. This may be a thing where people in consistently hot areas of the country may have to do things different than others with cooler weather.

It's in my herb garden and the roses were supposed to have gotten big enough by now to give it partial shade, but alas! So it's fully exposed to some really brutal sun. I may stick a little umbrella in there just for the true heat of the day. We will be baking for about 4-5 more weeks at least now, and no rain or other relief in sight.

If the comfrey perks us with the umbrella or shade cloth, that will let you know if the heat/full sun is the issue. I couldn't quite tell from the photo - are the leaves showing signs of yellowing with the veins staying green?

No, EVERYTHING is getting yellow. I do wonder if the browning is coming from chlorine, though, so I'm restricting the watering to water from the rain barrel. I'll post any changes.
