Our dd has a 3 yr old black lab. She wants the dog to bark when someone is near the house or door. (DD lives alone). The other night, after midnight, someone knocked repeatedly on her front room window and scared her so much. The dog sat up and did nothing but sniff around! This same dd's house was burglarized last fall in the wee hrs. while she was out of town. They knocked down her side door. Since then we have replaced doors w/ good heavy ones and security. The barking dog would be a great help.
