So cute, Pelle. I remember seeing the info about baby ducks having to sometimes follow their mothers from high places on The Life of Birds, and found it hard to believe then.

Wonderful story. I had a Similar experience 4 years ago when I a received a call from a local grocery store. Nine ducklings and their mom were in the busy parking lot with people/cars zooming everywhere. The amazing people collected the babes and mom followed us the a nearby creek where they were released and reunited!

I love the last pic, great story, thanks pelle! One point though, there are ten ducklings, not nine as stated.

It's nice to know there are good-hearted people in the world. Much better than all the horrible abuse stories you see on the news.

It's also nice to know that there are people out there who aren't mathematically challenged. Thanks for the recount wallaby.

I noticed the different number of ducklings, too! Also, the male seems to have shown up when the family entered the water! Tut tut. Where was he when the kiddos needed him?

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

Lol, somehow there's something amiss in this story! I noticed the male too, but no mention of him in the story. I'm beginning to wonder if the last pics were the 'actual' family.

Just shows the trials and tribulations animals and birds have to face. Great stuff!
