hibiscus from fresh seed

I have been given some fresh Texas Star hibiscus seeds. Can I plant them now? Will they germinate when fresh from the plant?

if you start them now you wil most likely have to overwinter them inside, as i don't think they will have a root system strong enough to survive the winter
