Passiflora 'Piresii'

St. Paul, MN(Zone 4b)

Hello All.

This variety is very slow growing, but the spectacular flowers are worth it! They are fully 6" across and a rich, vibrant orange.

It looks a bit dark pink in the pic, but I can just imagine what it is in person! The form is fantastic...I have been on a whole 'orange' kick this summer and you are not helping, lol!!

Thank tggfisk. I love my digital camera, but it doesn't do well with oranges and reds, and I have no idea how to adjust to settings, lol. These flowers are, surprisingly enough perhaps, a true sliced-carrot orange, very striking even from a distance. I've noticed that they open in the morning and are closing by late afternoon, so the show is short. But amazing nonetheless.

Nice one

Thank you Paul. The plant grows agonizingly slow, but the flowers are simply spectacular.

ERick, you got a greenhouse there? You can't possibly be taking all of those into your house in the winter.

Mark, I do not have a greenhouse, but sure wish I did. In fact, I live in a condo with five other units. All of my Passifloras and Aristolochias come indoors for the winter. I'm fortunate to have a large, south-facing enclosed sun porch and the vines do just fine there until spring. I just cut way back on the water and keep an eye out for spider mites.

That is one of the prettiest passies I have seen in a while. You should be very proud of it. Linda

Love it. You must have a bunch of trellises around your place. What fun to have such variety.
